I’tikaaf

I’tikaaf

I’tikaaf I’tikaaf in the last ten days of Ramadān is an emphasized communal Sunnah (Sunna al-kifaayah). The men are to do it in the Masjid and the women in an area designated in their home for Salaat.(Al Durrul Mukhtar vol 2 pg 440-441) Whilst making I’tikaaf, one is allowed to leave the Masjid either due to a Shari’ reason such as having to leave to perform the Jumuah Salaat (because this facility is not available where he is making I’tikaaf) or a natural reason such as to urinate or excuse himself or in an emergency like in the case of compulsion. (Tahtawi ala Maraaqil Falaah pg702-703) It is permissible for...

Answer: Assalâmu’alaikum Warahmatullâhi Wabarakâtuh Respected brother, First of all we would like to apologize for belated reply, hence our response is as follows; We are confident that you are aware of the fact that interest is a curse and evil that has been severely condemned in the light of Shari’ah. Question: Recently my father passed away and I was wondering if  I understand there is a Hadith in which the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam planted two leaves of a palm tree to lessen the buried persons’ torment. If your ruling on this is a ‘no’ then I hope you will inform me of other things that may be done to help the deceased. I hope you will provide references to the Hadith or Quranic verses you may cite. Jazakallah Answer: As Salaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu Your query comprises of two questions, is it permissible to plant flower/plant on the grave and the means of conveying reward to the deceased. Question: Is it permissible for a person to perform Tayammum for Janazah Salaah? If a person is travelling to attend a Janazah Salaah, and he experiences a wet dream whilst travelling but he doesn’t have enough time make ghusl, can he make Tayammum and perform the Janazah Salaah? Answer: The Fuqaha have given permission to make Tayammum when a person fears that he will miss the whole Janazah Salaah. Seeing that your situation is similar, Tayammum will be permissible for you. Therefore you can suffice on making Tayammum and participate in the Janazah Salaah without having to first take a bath or make wudhu. Tayammum is permissible for both hadath e asgar (when in need of Wudhu) as well as hadath e akbar (when in need of a bath). However, after completing the Janazah Salaat an earnest effort must be made to make arrangements for a bath. It is highly undesirable for one to stay in a state of najaasat...

While traveling East wards by plane, salaah times approach very quickly. How am I supposed to perform my Salaat?...

posted on: Feb 18, 2013 | author: admin

Question: I’m traveling East wards by plane and I want to know how I am supposed to perform my Salaat keeping in mind that Salaah times approach very quickly? Answer: When a person is travelling eastwards then as Salaah time’s approach, he/she should perform his Salaat regardless of how many he/she has to perform. Salaah times may be determined by the rising and setting of the sun and by information gained from the cabin crew. When a person is travelling westwards (thus, he is gaining time/the day is being lengthened so to say) and he is faced with the situation where within twenty four hours he is able to perform five Salaat (by observing the normal times such as Maghrib after sunset, etc.) then he should do so. However, if within twenty four hours, he is unable to perform the five Salaat observing their normal times, then he should estimate the approximate times between Salaah’s under normal circumstances...
